Sometimes helps applying of w2k SP... I don't know if this would help you but you should try.
Other thing is to start using XP where you can use complatibility mode... but of course this is not the best solution

You could also try using the Windows 2K Compatibility Mode...
This is designed to make programs designed for previous version of Windows work with Windows 2000... just as the XP one is 'supposed' to do....
Now, mind you, its rather sketchy, and I've yet to see it work....
Anyway, for you I give this link to try aid you...
