XP Problem
I know this is not a suprise to many of you but I am having a problem with an XP system rebooting on startup for no apparent reason it gets to the login page then reboots. it happens anytime somthing goes to a mini dump file. any input on this microft has no clue which is normal .The following event is making the computer reboot microsoft has no information about this in their knowledge base the following message describes the event:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The Bugcheck was 0x00000050(0xf8a37004,0x00000000,0xf0f292f1,0x00000000) a dump was saved in C:/Windows/ minidump/012102-4.dmp
Please see what you can find out on this.
Thanks,
Travis Griffith

XP upgrades
If you upgraded a ME or 2000 base machine
you may need to do a flash upgrade especially
a HP computer... also I found if you try to over clock
some computers with XP ...it will crash but not under ME or 98
This is true with 2000. Also did you try the Bootvis utility at
http://www.bagpipes.net/files/xp-utilities/BootVis.exe
or search MS for the file if you do not trust mine
I have many more utilities at
http://www.bagpipes.net/files/xp-utilities/
that I use.....
I hope this helps.... Have Fun!!!

XP
Did you install any software just before it started
to give you problems....
Did you do all the updates ???
Do you have a virus scanner ???
What type of compter, Dell ?? Gateway ?? HP ??
Are you using a Dial up or Cable/DSL ??
If this is a new computer, you may have a hardware problem
better call the company.

Several other ideas....
I have several other Ideas....
Uninstall Office XP
Use the go back feature to before the problem started.....
You may have a hardware problem if none of the above fixes it
or your registry is screwed up....
I have used RegCleaner even though MS do not support that.
Let me know .....

Yea, I was going to suggest uninstalling Office and see if you still have the same problem. You're right, technically Office XP and Win XP should work together but this is Microsoft we're talking about here But yea, try a complete uninstall of Office since you said that it was the last package you put on. If you do run a registry cleaner, there are several out there that do a pretty good job - I've had pretty good luck with Ontrack's Easy Uninstall - it has a registry cleaner in it, seems to work pretty good.
SecurityAdmin, you said that you ran through all of the normal tech things. What exactly have you done or tried already?

Things tried
Well I have ran sytem mechanic, I have tried to Restore sytem to previous point but still encounter problem, I have ran regedit and searchen for conflicts I ran scandisk, I have ran winblowz from a safemode and default setting and I have did the uninstall XP office and it is still doing it I believe XP leaves records in your reg or something to stop you from screwin with it too much. Also when you try to reinstall XP anything you need to go through this phone regestration crap again and the damn near want access to your c drive to examine your sys remotley to c that u didnt steal the XP software. You can only register the software 1 time online. it is a really messud up system. Any ideas on what the binary address refers to in (0xf8a37004,0x00000000,0xf0f292f1,0x0000
0000) ? I am goin to try to Nuke it and start over then i am contemplating something in a script form for mr. Gates.

You go girl!
On a serious note, I had the same trouble on a dual boot box running Red Hat and ME. Every time you reached the start up screen the box would reboot. Not all the time but nearly 95%...I tried to boot Red Hat (which gives a more detailed boot log) and got the following error half way through....
Ooops! CPU=0
It turned out it was a CPU error and NOT software related. The CPU was overheating due to a lack of airflow and thermal paste...Just a suggestion...
