    Linux with MP3s

    Hi,
    I just got Linux set up on my computer and although it plays cd's fine when I go load an mp3 it runs through it in like 30 seconds despite the song being 3 minutes long and nothing comes out the speakers. Any idea why?

    Some more information would be appreciated. Have you played this MP3 successfully before? What distribution of Linux are you running? What program are you using to play the MP3? How did you configure your sound card/onboard sound?

    my mistake

    Sorry,
    It's because of my chipset, i845D. Doesn't support it yet so it can't read my sound chip which is unfortunately on board.
