    Exclamation Internet Explorer browser 5.0 & 6.0?

A new Trojan horse is redirecting Internet users to pornographic Web sites by exploiting a vulnerability in Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE).

The JS/Seeker-E script can arrive by email or can be embedded into a Web page: when a user opens the email or clicks on the Web page, the script is activated. Once activated, Seeker attempts to change the user's IE settings, such as the start page and search settings, and will redirect the infected user to a porn site. What are some of the better browsers? Does anyone know which web pages?

As for alternatives, such as neoplanet, opera, and mozilla, they all have downsides as compared to IE. My mom's work laptop actually got infected by a standard ad servie that did pretty much the same thing, it's quite difficult to stop.

Opera, the only browser I use, is one of the more flexible standards-compliant browsers out there. www.opera.com is the site and it allows you to customize everything about it. Check it out.

I've been caught out by this one myself but not with IE. I was using Opera 5.12 at the time. You'll find that it also adds an entry in the Run Once folder of the registry...

Mozilla is a huge memory hogging browser, NeoPlanet is not a stand alone browser! It's just an IE plugin! As for Opera, what more could you want? It's a perfect little browser thats very light on memory and quick to load....As they say "The fastest browser on earth!"..........

you can set you ie to ask before running scrits, in ie6 you can make a permanant decision on a site by site basis. that goes for cookies to.

I like opera alot. just two complaints. it dosn't allow me to login to my intranet, extranet is fine, but it can't handle network login. and it dosn't handle jave script list boxs well. it i need to select my state, in ie i just type n and it brings be to the states beginning with n, opera wont do this and the listing in the box is reversed. trivial i know but this annoys me.
