I have had friends that have had flash backs up 4 years later after doing the drug. Granted they were on it probably two to three times a week but either way a green horse is still a green horse especially when you haven't done anything for a while.

In neo platonic duelistic thought they divide knowledge into two groups, universal and particulars.

Particular knowledge is anything than can be expressed with logic or even sensed(sight, sound ,smell, etc, etc)
Universal knowledge on the other hand cannot be expressed thru logic or attained with the senses. It must come thru "revelation"

In the "beat-nic" era abstract art was very popular. The reason was that some poeple believed that abstract art could communicate "universal" concepts. Thats what was meant when an art lover could "see" the picture. The viewer was somehow liberated from the limits of "particular" thought and could then grasp "universal" concepts.

Tripping on acid or mushrooms also eliminated the boundries established by "particular" thought. it placed you in a world that you could redefine using "universal" concepts.
Sythenesia is when you "hear" colours and "smell" sounds.

Hmmmm LSD I ain't familiar with but E thats a different matter I spent quite a while doing it and Ket (ketamine) together and that was more than trippy enough for me - I also seem to get weird visuals now even when I've stopped, like colours changing objects appearing blurry or fuzzy that kind of thing....anyone had similar experiences with E/Ket

I have had some crazy experiences with LSD...I use to use it for recreation and then it became spiritual..

1)4 of us took some LSD and where galavanting about the house being stupid all in our own ways..on different floors...staring at different walls, swiming in different carpet and scareing ourselves in the mirror in the bathroom..When one by one we found ourselves all in the same room..we for some unknown reason all sat in a circle lit a candle (this will be hard to explain)and started to play a game with each other..We had never discussed rules or even really spoken until later aout it..The game was..I don't know...kinda like someone would start and lets say scratch there nose..Then that was passed to the next person who would make some other gesture and so on and so on..NOW you have to remember this game was never a REA:L game...but we all knew what to do and who was next and what was really crazy is when someone messed up they knew it as did everybody else all at the same time...And remember this is all without saying a word....

I will comment more if peeps read and are interested
Video games do not effect kids... if Pacman effected us as kids we\'d all be running around in a darkened room muching on magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.

Geeee it sure is nice to see that it's not just the drug threads I am in that get closed
LSD is great for SOME people. In my opinion it is WAY to unpredictable. Also, those flash backs..... You do realise thats because a little drop can make you insane right?

I won't try acid. My best friend however loves it. He was taking 8 hits at once just to get a body buzz because he had so much. He had like half a 2 litre bottle full of acid.

I refuse to do something that does nothnig more than make you insane for 12 hours. If I want to expand my mind, I'll smoke Opium. Which is 500x safer. Acid is NOT the safest drug for your body. Opium does NOTHING to your organs like people think it does, and it does NOT cloud your mind, or give you flash backs.

It does however make you feel wonderful. Acid is way to dangerouse in my opinion. My friend drank a vile of it and tripped for 3 weeks. Watching your friend tie rope around his neck because "It seems fun" Is bullshit.

I don't even smoke pot, but I would do that again before Acid. **** I'd do heroin before Acid. It's just WAY to unpredictable. If you want some nice visuals, do heroin, and close your eyes. One of the things with Opiates is, not only do they feel amazing, but when you close your eyes, you dream.

Not hallucinate, but dream. But, some people have said after smoking very potent Opium, that they see things. For example, someone smoked Opium and then went to a play. They said the ceiling seemed to come to life with diamonds and gems and shine like the stars.

*Wonders how long this thread will take to be closed now that I have replied.*

Now I think psycilociben is the way to go since it comes naturally from the earth ..It was put best by Terrance Mckenna..

History is ending because the dominator culture has led the human species into a blind alley, and as the inevitable chaostrophie approaches, people look for metaphors and answers. Every time a culture gets into trouble it casts itself back into the past looking for the last sane moment it ever knew. And the last sane moment we ever knew was on the plains of Africa 15,000 years ago rocked in the cradle of the Great Horned Mushroom Goddess before history, before standing armies, before slavery and property, before warfare and phonetic alphabets and monotheism, before, before, before. And this is where the future is taking us because the secret faith of the twentieth century is not modernism, the secret faith of the twentieth century is nostalgia for the archaic, nostalgia for the paleolithic, and that gives us body piercing, abstract expressionism, surrealism, jazz, rock-n-roll and catastrophe theory. The 20th century mind is nostalgic for the paradise that once existed on the mushroom dotted plains of Africa where the plant-human symbiosis occurred that pulled us out of the animal body and into the tool-using, culture-making, imagination-exploring creature that we are. And why does this matter? It matters because it shows that the way out is back and that the future is a forward escape into the past. This is what the psychedelic experience means. Its a doorway out of history and into the wiring under the board in eternity. And I tell you this because if the community understands what it is that holds it together the community will be better able to streamline itself for flight into hyperspace because what we need is a new myth, what we need is a new true story that tells us where we're going in the universe and that true story is that the ego is a product of pathology, and when psilocybin is regularly part of the human experience the ego is supressed and the supression of the ego means the defeat of the dominators, the materialists, the product peddlers. Psychedelics return us to the inner worth of the self, to the importance of the feeling of immediate experience - and nobody can sell that to you and nobody can buy it from you, so the dominator culture is not interested in the felt presence of immediate experience, but that's what holds the community together. And as we break out of the silly myths of science, and the infantile obsessions of the marketplace what we discover through the psychedelic experience is that in the body, IN THE BODY, there are Niagras of beauty, alien beauty, alien dimensions that are part of the self, the richest part of life. I think of going to the grave without having a psychedelic experience like going to the grave without ever having sex. It means that you never figured out what it is all about. The mystery is in the body and the way the body works itself into nature. What the Archaic Revival means is shamanism, ecstacy, orgiastic sexuality, and the defeat of the three enemies of the people. And the three enemies of the people are hegemony, monogamy and monotony! And if you get them on the run you have the dominators sweating folks, because that means your getting it all reconnected, and getting it all reconnected means putting aside the idea of separateness and self-definition through thing-fetish. Getting it all connected means tapping into the Gaian mind, and the Gaian mind is what we're calling the psychedelic experience. Its an experience of the living fact of the entelechy of the planet. And without that experience we wander in a desert of bogus ideologies. But with that experience the compass of the self can be set, and that's the idea; figuring out how to reset the compass of the self through community, through ecstatic dance, through psychedelics, sexuality, intelligence, INTELLIGENCE. This is what we have to have to make the forward escape into hyperspace.

I think they only kill the thead when it digresses into name calling and out right threats.

Personally I hate drugs because my body instinctively fights their effects and I get bored easily with nothing to concentrate on. But Terrance was cool and I find his theory's on ancient drug cultures interesting. Too bad the dude had to die from brain cancer.

It takes a strong mind to deal with acid. That drug can take you wonderfull or terrible places. Its kinda like what you take in with you is what you can get out of it. (If that makes any sense)
