    Windows login screen problem

My PC has Windows 98 and earlier it used to have several users who all had made separate login ids for them selves. Now when I've deleted or removed all those ids, when I start windows, the login screen pops up again but without any ids or usernames. How can I get rid of this pop up windows login screen in Windows 98? Thankx.

Boot into dos with your start up disk. Navigate to the windows dir using the "cd" command. Then find the .pwl file or files. Delete them using the "del" command. Then rebbot and when it askes for you to make a user and password click cancel. Then the next time you login. No pop up for a user. Just straight boot to Windows.

    Hope this helps.

..or log in with any username/password combination you feel like, right-click on Network Neighborhood and select properties, in the drop down menu select windows family logon. It'll force a reboot and never ask for a password again.
