linux RedHat 6.0 please help (not security)
totally new to linux and already i have problem.
i don't know how to find the device manager type of thing like on windows so i can set up my graphics card, modem and so on, probably a stupid Q? but never ever used a operating system other than windows before
PLEASE HELP

Well...there is no device manager, so it really depends on what you are trying to configure. If it is the graphics card, try 'Xconfigurator' or 'XF86config' from the comand line if it is a network card issue try editing the file 'ifcfg-eth0' under /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts and then make sure you run '/etc/rc.d/init.d/network stop' and then '/etc/rc.d/init.d/network start'
if it is something else, let me know and I will tell you where it is

thanx for the help getting fed up of windows and all its problems
i am trying to config sound card, modem, graphics card, monitor, and cd writer

for your sound card...try 'sndconfig'
the procedure I stated above for the video card will also take care of the monitor.
AS far as the modem goes try this to get you started:
