Well seeing as how walmart doesnt pay well, here we go.

    200mhz Pentium II Processor
    64mb ram
    24X cdrom
    2 gig hard drive
    15" Monitor
    Linux-Mandrake 8.1 and Windows NT 4.0

    433mhz Intel Celeron
    288mb ram
    32X cdrom
    8X burner
4.3 gb and 40 gb hard drives
    geforce2 mx200 video card
    Linux-Mandrake 8.1/FreeBSD 4.5/Windows98SE

The server also acts as my gaming pc, but spends 90% of the time booted into linux. Overall, all three computers cost me a total of about $600, buying used equipment, and assembling yourself pays off. The most expensive thing was the video card.

    My pc...

This is the PC I use everyday at home... I also use one decent PC at school...

    P3 800 MHz (133 Bus)
    896 MB RAM (CL3, 128 + 256 + 512 - I got the 512 for under $80 new... Sorry, they don't have it anymore )
    20 GB HD (Windows)
    4 GB HD (Linux Mandrake)
16 MB ATI Xpert 128 (Yeah, guess it kinda old)
    32x CDROM (Original)
24x6x4 CD-RW (Smart and Friendly... Had it for 2~3 years now...)
    16 Inch Moniter
Windows 98 SE & Linux Mandrake
56K Modem (Not a WinModem, never got it to work in Linux though...)
    Network Card (Don't know speed)
    A Game Controller (USB)
    Palm Pilot Docking Station (IIIe)
    Floppy Drive
Keyboard (Old Larger Connection Type, not USB or PS/2?)

One feature that you may not find on many computers is this: I have mine connected up to a component sound system... 140 Watt Max Front, 40 Max Rear, 90~100 Subwoofer (8 Inch)... I try not to play music too loud

I pretty much built this computer on my own, starting with an old HP AMD system... The only original things are a CD-ROM drive, and 4 GB HD...

School (The Good One At School - Compaq):
    P3 733?
    160 MB RAM
    Win 2000
    6-20? GB HD

I know little else about the pc because there are only a few of them, and the teacher keeps a close eye on all of them... We work on them in groups, and my friends and I work fast to get free time the rest of the week...

I don't care much for the do-hickies in my computer. I like making programs that work with the operating system, not the actual computer itself. Most people who are into programming, especially in the ASM field, are very hung up on their system.

But according to Moore's Law, in the year 2011 the microprocessor will have one billion transisters! How many do we have at the moment? 10-12K max probably.

So I am going to keep my rusty old tin can until then, thank you very much.
