Wink How would you run the world?

Let's say we all take a vote and you are put in complete, total charge of the world. What would you do?

My son is in kindergarten in Florida. When the school year started several other parents and I noticed that a couple of the kids didn't seem to be doing really well in class. Upon further investigation it became clear that they were living in a home with 3 families, and there was rarely enough money to feed all of the children. They never ate breakfast, and were poorly clothed and hungry. Before anyone asks, the parents were all working, except for one of the women, who stayed home and took care of everyone's children.
I think it is very important that we take the time and the interest to make sure that our children, who are our future, are given all opportunities to succeed. It would make a lot more sense to me for the government to take care of the hungry, homeless and helpless, instead of worrying about weapons and warfare. I guarentee if you made sure everyone had somewhere to live, and enough food to feed their families and clothes to wear, we would live in a much happier, more peaceful world.

I wouldn't know what to do and I'd probably decline the position.
Haha, yeah right. I don't even know where to begin. But if I was,
the world would be a better place.

Benevolent dictatorship. Only way to go.

I'd attempt an equitable redistribution of wealth. That, and I'd come down rather hard on certain annoying companies *cough*Microsoft*cough* who aren't exactly fair in the way they run things. I would probably also, knowing me, not last six months, due to staying up all night all the time trying to solve problems.

Tougher prison sentences for people who break the law, lower taxes, cut down on crime by having police officers on the streets and not in offices doing paperwork, improve the health service and send in the SAS to round up all the rogue dictators like Sadaam Hussain.

I'd probably get killed really fast. While popular to the masses, some things are politically unpopular, and would likely get me killed.

I would solve all of the big problems, like hunger, disease
crime, poverty, etc etc, but of course there would always
be a few unenlightened souls who didn't appreciate
what I was doing for them. So, I would have to be
gentle but FIRM. If they didn't see
the light, oh well, for the sakeof a better world, I'd have
    to remove the bad apples.

Then there would be unemployment. There are always a few
"unmotivated" types who would have to be given a job...
at gunpoint. And did I mention those evil dangerous
foreign powers. I might have to draft about half
of the nation's youth and send them off to "protect"
us from "foreign devils, backsliders, counter-revolutionaries
    and enemies of the people.

By now, the people, not being wise and benevolent and
far-seeing like me, they might listen to the evil propaganda
of my political enemies, and get restless and resentful.
I might have to round up a few people at random,
and send them to prison, make an example of them
to "deter" others from following in their evil ways.

After I Quell the riots and win the civil war I promise
I will eventually get around to making this place
into a paradise. Seriously, I mean it. You'll see!

Yo rcgreen are you by any chance schizophrenic? YOU are the leader of the world. What evil dangerous foreign powers are there? Do you want to invade yourself?

P.s I'd do the same as you (except maybe fighting with myself).

First of all, I would build enlist the world's unemployed to build houses for the world's homeless. The I'd make the world's farmers/food producers to distribute food evenly across the world. I'd also make sure that absolutely everyone was happy. (Well... the chances of me becoming world leader = chance of everyone being happy)

Then I'd Throw Bill Gates into a prison cell and make him rewrite windows XP.. without bugs.. and in in MS QBasic... while listening to Limp Bizkit Albums and simulataneously doing all the M$ tech support for ever program they've ever written.

I will be a cruel and unusual dictator.
