Any Role Players around?
Anyone has the book "Faiths & Avatars" of AD&D?
Avatars are sometimes incarnations of gods & goddesses in our world, and sometimes just their chosen champions that walk the earth...

I found this in Ralph Brown Listings
---------
AVATAR
******
(Advanced Video Attribute Terminal Assembler and Recreator) A
set of control codes which may be used to affect the output of
characters to the screen on systems equipped with an appropriate
driver. Similar in intent to ANSI sequences, AVATAR has shorter
command sequences and provides additional PC-specific functionality.
AVATAR is primarily used by the Opus and Maximus bulletin board systems
(it was designed by one of the developers of the Opus system).

In Sanskrit AVTAR= incarnation.
yup Avtar is the exact sanskrit word now extensively used in Hindi lang too.
Just for Some Chit-Chat.
i think that in greek mythology they use avatar (maybe not the exact word) to mean a god in human form, or a god that has come down to earth.
There\'s no sense in being Pessimistic...it would never work anyway.

“People don’t talk about anything.” [Clarisse]
“Oh, they must!” [Guy]
“No, not anything. They name a lot of cars or clothes or swimming pools mostly and say how swell! But they all say the same things and nobody says anything different from anyone else. And most of the time in the cafes they have the joke-boxes on and the same jokes most of the time, or the musical wall lit and all the colored patterns running up and down, but it’s only color and all abstract. And at the museums, have you ever been? All abstract. That\'s all there is now...\"

And I thought ICON was fascinating!
I came in to the world with nothing. I still have most of it.
