What's running that site?
I ran across this "tool" a year ago or so, figured it'd be useful to post here and maybe a suggestion for JP for the tools and toys section?
www.netcraft.com/whats
You go to this site, enter the site you want to know about and it'll let you know what apps and os the server of the site....
www.antionline.com -----> Apache/1.3.22 on WINDOWS 2000
www.bonfire.tk ----------> Apache/1.3.22 (Unix) mod_perl/1.26 on Linux
www.goddessunleashed.tk ---> Same as bonfire.tk
It seems everyone with a .tk domain is running on Linux (Yahoo Geocities...)

Hmmm, no... it seems like Geocities is running Linux. Tokelau just offers a redirection-service. Since I never use my tk-adress (Apache/1.3.22 (Unix) AuthMySQL/2.20 on Solaris), I got this email from the nice people of Tokelau today:
It seems to be that in the last 90 days there were
less then 30 hits on your website. Because we want
to give everybody equal opportunities to register
Dot TK domain names, this domain name will soon be
made available for registration by someone else!
You can prevent losing your Dot TK domain name
by paying for it. Registration starts at USD 6.95
per year. If you pay for your domain name, you will
be the legal licensee of the domain name, and the
restrictions of FREEDOMAIN.TK do NOT apply anymore.

Hrm....It's actually fairly easy to build a tool with vb that grabs the http headers and read what type of web server is being run (unless the owner of said web server makes the tweaks to stop the default banners from getting tossed out).

Either way, it's a cool little tool....
And in a sense, kind of dangerous for some 7337 Hackors....
Knowing exactly what their target runs....
(Especially for Script kiddies who rely on programs designed for certain OS's)
