    driver writing

i'm looking to write drivers for ,hell, anything i can... including the kitchen sink... (anything i can put a chip into) maybe control me house via computer... anybody got suggestions on how, what language, hardware issues, anything you want to say... i want to know.

i figure this is the place to ask.. but if any of you addicts or members can steer me in a new direction, it would be much appreciated...

Get Microsoft's DDK (Driver Development Kit). Head over to http://msdn.microsoft.com/ and search for the DDK.

if you are interested in hard core programming then go for the book

    LINUX DEVICE DRIVERS from O'Reillly

it teaches very well how to program your hardware and it also teaches OS concepts very well..there is one factor i overlooked..which platform would you like to base all you experiments on? if it is linux then the above book is for you...
