Instant Messanging
hiya all,
I was wondering if there is any Linux chat program that you can use the same as MSN Messanger. Sounds like a stupid question I know, but many of my friends still use windows and MSN messanger, however i primarily use RedHat, and if i want to chat, i have to swap harddrives.
Thanks,

I think linux comes with a clone of ICQ, but I've
never used it.
I came in to the world with nothing. I still have most of it.

Sorry....
I know that there are many popular chat programs that have been ported to linux. IE AOL Instant Messenger, ICQ, Jabber and Yahoo. Those are all available at their perspective website. I have never heard of MSN on the linux platform. If you find one though, let us all know.

Have you tried gAIM? - AOL INSTANT MESSENGER...
I personally use IcePack Linux and I have about 4 - 5 instant messanger clones. If you check out Downloads.com you can download a clone that will connect to all the popular Instant Messengers.

I second that, gAIM is personaly my favorite. gAIM supports AOL/AIM, MSN, ICQ, Jabber and a couple other protocols. You can get gAIM at http://gaim.sourceforge.net
I haven't tried Ice pack, so I can't comment on that..but might actually take a look at it now.

I've tried gAIM, but there was one MSN Messanger that I found for Linux, AMSN or something try looking forit on Sourceforge.net or on the Mandrakeforums site. I found it it's good. Later.

I thought Trillian (popular windows All-In-One messenger, uses AOL, MSN, Yahoo and ICQ) had a Linux version, or was working on one? That would make my life online a hell of a lot easier.
