Norton Antivirus
Just wondering, anyone been seeing any issues with Norton Antivirus since the last update was released, I have ran into about 8 "Socket 10061" errors using Outlook Express and outlook. Also anything that goes over port 110 or port 25 using Windows XP (telnet used to get this message) Results in "Server actively refused the connection"... Just wondering if maybe norton screwed up on the update or something?
Also we disable the email auto-protect and everything works fine....Just as a side note...

I don't know if this is of any help, here is Microsofts discription of Socket error 10061:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...EN-US;Q191687&
Possibly your firewall might be blocking the conection...

Which probable cause of its error e' the presence on its computer of a Firewall or an antivirus ones that controls the email that closes of the necessary doors for the reception of the email.

Fully aware of what the error means, but these issues only started after norton 2002 was installed on 8 different computers with the new updates. Anyone else seeing this issue?
If so, I am going to email norton and ask if thier is something wrong with the update.

I was searching the web site for Norton and found an article discribeing your problem:
Norton AntiVirus 2000 6.0 knowledgebase
http://service4.symantec.com/SUPPORT...e?OpenDocument
They give a solution too.
Edit: They seem to be down today, here is the cached version:
