The 4th dimension is already incorporated in games. Even if it's fake representations, we can consider it will only be a question of time to have real representations. The really interesting question would be "How will we represent the 5th in order to become even more realistic?" since the modern physical say us there are 11th dimensions.
Life is boring. Play NetHack... --more--

wouldn't a game like max payne be kind of a 4-d game? since you can slow down time?

I have to agree with vorlin on this one. the concept of 4th dimension gaming would be to actually play it real time. but when thinking about it more, the more issues that are raised. what happens when u quit the game and open it again? can you save the game? would it be playable online due to the time differences? although it is impossible to know if a game will incorporate a 4th dimension its still kinda weird to think about it.
If you can cheat and get away with it you deserve to win

A fourth dimension in gaming eh? Interesting point, I must give you some credit there. Don't you think that would be graphically intense for the systems the general public uses for gaming? Also creating a game with a perception of time that reacts to that time would be a lot of work for such a small feature. Personally, I'm content with Max Payne as is, except for those polygon skips in the videos. And hellbringer, I dont think Max Payne would fall into that catagory because yes you can slow down the time momentarily, but your environment doesn't react to the time of day, or whether its light or dark outside.

    Specialist:
Well if there were a 4-d game that means it would not only effect the look and movement of the game characters but it would also be effected by time.

Example: If you were to play a game at night then the game would have a darker setting.
Umm ... yeah - MS Flight Sim 200x is one example. It can read your system clock and derive scenery meshes accordingly.
