You could have just bumped it instead.
Regardless, not sure about how to fix the email notification problem, especially if you have made absolutely sure you unchecked the notification box. However, to solve your problem temporarily you can go to the Site Subscriptions link on the front page and unsubscribe yourself from all threads. That should work fine until you figure out how to stop subscribing yourself to threads in the first place.

Just a longshot, but you could try deleting your browser cookie(s). Re-visit and Reset your AO site preferences...

Or you can just use the quick reply box like i'm using right now, instead of using the post reply button. That way you get no notification.
script language=\"M$cript\";
function beginError(bsod) {
return true; }
onLoad.windows = beginError;

You subscribe to the thread, it sends you notifications. You don't subscribe, either by quick-replying or removing your subscription, and it doesn't send you notifications. So what's the problem?

no. there is an option in the site options that either enables or disables the email notifications to anything. i have it all disabled but i still get notifications, thats the problem. see my first post

no, that's an option that sends you a notification when someone replies to any thread you posted in. when you subscribe, you always get email notifications. that's the entire idea behind it.
i will shoot you so hard.
