and this site that the link recommeds was also mentioned in the other thread, after reading i went and started downloading the file. but i got tired and went to bed. the next night i came on and the site seems to have up and vanished. i was wondering if anyone knows what has happened to it??

There are tons of sites which mirror TGT Soft's Style XP. Just go to Google and do a search for it, and you'll find tons of mirrors. I may be wrong, but I believe the most recent version is 1.01M, so look for that when you're searching in Google.

Also, stylexp is a commercial software. If you don't mind messing a bit with the system. I suggest you get uxthemepatcher.zip from the tgtSoft website. If you're running sp1, here's a version that you can use.

Here ya go...
This isn't stylexp but the free version which is basically a patched uxtheme.dll. If you're using SP1 then download the file I've posted before.

cgkanchi, yer, i downloaded that patch cause i run xp sp1 but it allows me only to incorperate themes not extra things. for example, this theme i want to install has all these special features, but they do not work with the patch. here is a screen shot. the only thing i get is the colours, fonts and none of the clocks, calenders, or other things shown on the desktop.

trust... there'll be a reason why it don't have the calendar and stuff....... its because the calendar is actually a seperate freeware prog called rainlendar! Rainlendar is available here
http://vapaa.dc.inet.fi/~rainy/Rainlendar.html
The theme you've d/l only has extra skins for rainlendar not the prog itself. I don't know about the curl over clock thingy but I would suspect that this is also a seperate prog. and the other thing (can't clearly see what it is... has a sun on it)... well again I suspec that this is a weather 'ticker'... search google and you can probably find something to d/l
hope it helps

While I agree that with Zonewalker that the calendar and such may be separate freeware/shareware programs, I am leaning more towards the idea that they are, in fact, scripts incorporated into an active desktop. I've seen some hardcore customizations made to active desktops, and some of the scripts used are available for download with certain themes (they are, however, a separate install... you may want to search the location that you uncompressed the theme to in order to find them).
