Hackers, NASA and Shuttle disaster...
Guys,
Hackers defaced numerous NASA web servers on day of Space Shuttle Disaster.
This is the full article taken from here
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
On a day of national tragedy, with the folks at NASA in grief at the lost of the space shuttle Columbia and the seven astronauts onboard, a hacking group known as Trippin Smurfs decided to defaced a number of NASA web servers with a rant about Iraq....

Suffice to say that their timing was in extremely poor taste and will probably result in NASA's JPL security dudes putting in some overtime to catch the Trippin Smurfs. Given the tragedy that unfolded today over the skies of Texas, I don't think there is a court in the land that would have much sympathy for the hackers when sentencing. Tip of the hat and thanks to our friends who wrote to us about this poorly timed multiple web site defacement.

Mmm... i think hackers went TOO far away and beyond limits this time

Agreed...There is no reason for that...At least show some respect.
[gloworange]And then it happened... a door opened to a world... rushing through the phone line like heroin through an addict\'s veins, an electronic pulse is sent out, a refuge from the day-to-day incompetencies is sought... a board is found. \"This is it... this is where I belong...\" I know everyone here... even if I\'ve never met them, never talked to them, may never hear from them again... I know you all...[/gloworange]

hmm is it possible that their defacement or interferance caused the accident with the space shuttle?

it all stems down to publicity. The Trippin Smurfs chose the NASA Sites today obviously because they will get extra/more/better publicity for their attacks thus increasing their chances of getting their message accross ( more people will read it & comment on it )
It shows no respect at all however by the sounds of their message they dont have any respect for the USA as it is.
Just because you don\'t see it doesn\'t mean it\'s not there

Hey Dark, is that site legit?
The links listed in the artical are supposedly Italian city site links? BTW the link themselves are to their own "copy" of the defacement and at the time of this post ALL of the NASA site links don't exist..ie manually key in the link and no responce..
I became suspicious when the articals writer displayed a poor grasp english grammer (almost as bad as mine)..
