Slackware Linux Install Question!
Im going to install Slackware 8.1 tonight and have a question about the boot disk creation.
On Slackware's website they give a table of boot disc images to choose from, but im not sure which one i should use!
The table is HERE
My HDD is an IDE Maxtor 60GB 7200rpm and DVD drive is an IDE Pioneer.
Any help appreciated as always!
Cheers

hmm, all the image files are designed for certian hardware. but i would recommend the bareapm.i cause its a generic image ect. or just bare.i
the diff is that bareapm.i has advanced power mangement support. and bare.i doesnt and i just a standard plain image.

boot disk images ??
bleh...
I just wrote me a bootable iso slackware 9.0 rc 1 or 2 (11 march)
and also my 8.1 (and 8.0 etc..) slackware CD's were bootable..
but if you wanna go with a floppy disk.. I'd agree with TN123.. go for the bare.i !!

Good luck on the installation.

r3b007 >> i run the bareapm.i and its never really given me problems with slack. If i were you id install this one, but again the disk itself should boot. i see no reason why it wouldnt, because my slack disk (8.1) was burnt from nero and it works just fine! Good luck with slack, just make sure you check out http://fluxbox.sourceforge.net as soon as you install and get a good window manager!
