This worm arrives as a file downloaded via Kazaa.

When executed, this worm checks for the presence of the folder C:\Windows. It then attempts to drop a copy of itself into the folder as microsoftscanreg.exe.
This worm propagates via the popular peer-to-peer file sharing network Kazaa. It requires that the folder C:\Windows exists before it executes. As a result, it may not run on Windows NT and 2000, since the folder is not found on typical installations of these platforms.

Note, however, that this worm can execute smoothly on Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, and XP machines that have the folder C:\Windows.
