As far as I know, the 666 is not always associating with the devil,,,,
And I don't agree with that the number is symbolize the devile,,,
I'm with the opinion which says that the number is invented by Metal Music Bands,,,
Consider an example, Iron Maiden, Him, Children of Bodom and Slipknot,,, and so on,,, they are into the number {666} in thier songs, gears ,,, etc.
And I entirly agree with Negative and Nihil,,,

then how can you "entirly agree with Negative and Nihil" when they both had posts about how the number originates from the Bible? I don't think there's much question about where we get that number from if Scriptures were written in the early AD centuries and metal bands emerged within the last few decades....

Nihil and Neg apear to be correct. In the end though, it all depends on how it is used. Like the highway pm8228 mentioned has nothing to do with the devil, where as when it is used by metal bands, it is intended to symbolize the sign of the beast and all that. Perhaps people should look more into how it is being applied and less into the number itself. I have a feeling that the number is not inherently evil, but became regarded as so when the bible was written, and God, and Satan were invented.

No i do think it is in the bible somewhere...i havent been to church in a while but i do remember something like that being said
it has also been said that 777 is the sign for god or something.
