Resolving network names and real IP's
How do you find the IP of a computer or its network name from something like d-200-000-000.bootp.Virginia.EDU? I got this ID by direct connecting on AIM but since we are not in the same workgroup I don't know and cannot find the network name.
[edit] Nevermind my buddies tracert and ping helped me out.

Use nslookup from your command line. You'll need to check Educause to find the proper nameservers, but here's a start:
Name: d-200-000-000.bootp.virginia.edu
Served by:
- JUNO.ACC.virginia.edu
128.143.22.119
virginia.edu
- NOM.virginia.edu
128.143.3.7
virginia.edu
- UVAARPA.virginia.edu
128.143.2.7
virginia.edu
