Thread: Looking for a new Operating System?

Gore i noticed that Phlack Is not included in your list so i thought i would just mention it in a hope to see it put with the list.

PHLAK is a modular live security Linux distribution (a.k.a LiveCD). PHLAK comes with two light gui's (fluxbox and XFCE4), many security tools, and a spiral notebook full of security documentation. PHLAK is a derivative of Morphix, created by Alex de Landgraaf.
    cheers

Here's another Distro i came across. aLinux i downloaded it and the GUI is sweet.
anyhow carn't see it on your list, maybe add it.?
    find it HERE

I found that majority of there mirrors to download it sucked.! i mean 3kb on a 5mb cable connection is a little slow.!
Anyhow if you download it with your linux torrent the speeds are a lot better.
    Download it Here.
Just click the alinux-12.5.torrent and start downloading the file..

SGI boxes are top of the line for media. IRIX is a form of UNIX. When it comes to audio and video, nothing beats them even though Mac weenies tell you to use Mac OS.

Or use SUSE Linux and install all the media tools.

    couple of things:

    1. you seem to "forget" Ubuntu which (IMHO) is the most newbie friendly Linux

    2. bow before apt-get

    3. Slack even though "pure" is kinda bloated. Gore, instead try Zenwalk Linux. You will love it

    4. I'd "piss" on OSX but maddox is has said it better

Ubuntu didn't really exist when I made this. I think on one of the pages I brought that up when someone else said it but I didn't look, I pruned it when a flame war went on.
