    what are those links?
have you updated your AV and scanned your Comp?
have you tried using any Spyware removing tools?

Sounds like it is another instance of cool web search. The links w0lverine gave you will explain the various methods for removal of the different types on malware you might have.
In the mean time try Merijn.org Here and get CWShredder and Hyjackthis. CWShredder will remove cool web search and its variants, if that is your problem.
[/EDIT] It would help if you were to list what Spybot told you was the problem. The more specific you can be, the more targeted the replies can be. [EDIT\]

    ramforu,

When I boot into my 98se, I have IE and use it occasionally, but right next to it is Opera and Mozilla. I have yet to have any problems with either one. I have everying shut off on Opera and only minimal on Moz. Do yourself a favor after you get IE cleaned up and patched, download and use those two browsers.

Now here's another thought. I found it another site I frequent: "Switch to Linux! According to Dr. Nic Peeling and Dr Julian Satchell's Analysis of the Impact of Open Source Software: "There are about 60,000 viruses known for Windows, 40 or so for the Macintosh, about 5 for commercial Unix versions, and perhaps 40 for Linux."

I don't know exactly how accurate the data is, but obviously there is a huge difference in the number of virii for windows and a much lesser amount for Linux. And of course I prefer Linux (SuSE 8.2 Pro, and Slack) over all other OS.

    cheers

Yes it seems as it is IE Hijack day, I myself have had problems with it, now I got two friends saying there are a lot of pages that any other day would open, not oppening at all. Has anyone heard of any new virus/spyware that's going around quickly through IE???

IE folks go to this thread posted by ric-o:

    http://www.antionline.com/showthread...hreadid=254245

And as is obvious, go to MS and download the latest patch for IE. It is a cumlative patch to plug up some of the holes discovered in IE. While you are there download the other patches for your version of the MS OS, and recognize that everyone wants to take down the giant so more and more attacks will happen against windows than any other OS. See my reply above, start using other browsers, and put Linux in your diet. It's good for the digestive system and you'll have much fewer maalox moments!
