Hey Hey
Microsoft has some really strange rules regarding activation.
Like Keyersoze said if your copy of XP Pro doesn't require Activation it's the Corporate version, we have a few of them laying around the office. I actually wish they'd do it with more of their software because when you are installing Visio for 500 students, activation can become a huge pain in the ass.
My sister's bf has installed his XP Pro CD (MSDNAA liscenced) somewhere between 5 and 10 times since September. He called the activation number he was given and was always given a new code, however the last time that he called in they told him he was installing it to frequently and refused to activate it for him. So basically MS has rules about how often you can format your system and reinstall your OS. This is pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Am I supposed to go out and buy two copies of the same software so that if I format frequently I'll be able to keep installing the software.
There's my story and 2 cents for ya.
Peace,
HT

Can I humbly suggest that this thread would be better placed in Operating Systems.
