Why do executives make more than techies?

Haven't you wondered why it is that your lazy, stupid boss makes more than you? It never seems to change....the person in charge never does any work and seems to always have no clue about anything, yet always makes more. Why? Well, leave it to my favorite software engineer, Dilbert, to come up with a solution.

Dilbert's Executive Salary Theorem:
Engineers and scientists can never earn as much as the executives that manage them, nor as much as the sales force that supports them. This theorem is supported a mathematical equation, based on the following two postulates :

1.) Knowledge is Power
2.) Time is Money

Expressed in mathematical terms, these statements become:

1.) Knowledge=Power
2.) Time=Money

As every engineer knows:

Power=Work/Time

Since: Knowledge=Power, then Knowledge=Work/Time is also true.
In addition, since: Time=Money, then Knowledge=Work/Money

Solving for Money, we get:

Money=Work/Knowledge

Thus, as Knowledge approaches zero, Money approaches infinity, regardless of the amount of work done.

Conclusion: The less you know, the more money you can potentially make.

of course, I wouldn't take an executive job if you paid me.. lol.. uh duh..
well, one exception would be if it was my own company.. fat chance of that..

I make quite a bit more than my manager(which he complains about often), my response is "Since when does the office manager make more than the surgeon?" Pisses him off every time.

I don't make a lot, so i'm figuring i could be right:
Since: Knowledge=Power, then Knowledge=Work/Time is also true.
In addition, since: Time=Money, then Knowledge=Work/Money

when you solve for money it would be Money=Knowledge*Work

.. but for some reason.. the point still remains very true...
