    OS X on windows PC

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to install Apples OS X on a pc i built myself. Its a high spec machine, 2.4Ghz, 1 Gig Ram etc. Ive looked at the apple website and it says i need a G5 machine, but does not actually say i cannot install OS X on an old windows machine.

If you carnt run OS X on a home built PC, why can you not?

Are there anyways of making it work?

No, you cannot run OS X on an Intel machine because it was designed and compiled for PowerPC chips. So unless your home machine has a RISC chip installed, you won't be able to install it. There is a project, however, called Darwin, that was supposed to a port of OS X to Intel. I don't know how far they got but the following links might help:

Here's a link to Macintosh emulation on Google directory. Not quite sure if that's what you were looking for but I thought I'd post it anyways. I think they only run the applications for Macs, and not the actual operating system. Darwin looks like a good option too if you want to run the actual OS and not just the applications (sounds like that's what you were looking for)...

    Good luck!
