Hi, and welcome to AO
I won't explain netbios because your real question is about security......or it ought to be!
1. Open ZoneAlarm and go into "firewall" set both pointers to "high"
2. Go to "alerts and logs", and turn it to "off"
You should then only be alerted when your machine tries to talk to the outside
you might like to go to http://www.grc.com and run "shields up"...it should tell you that you are in "stealth mode"
Good luck

its just a broadcast...nothing to worry about. a good thing would be to just turn the lil popups off or just switch firewalls to a better one but i wont get into that. The netbios thing isnt anything to worry about.
