I can't remember the last time I called in a Pizza, there is a cookie on my PC that holds my favorites, a few mouse clicks on-line and I have hot piping "ZA on the way. I sold my internet soul to convenience.

Yeh, I order my Papa John's on the Internet too, but they don't have kind of crazy ID number or some bullcrap like that for me.

    And it's "coup." It's French.

Interesting scenario. How ever, I don't think it would be likely that now or in the future a pizza company would ever get that type of info on a customer. it's just more info then they need to know.

On the other hand, I'm sure the Department of Defense has databases today, with that info ready to be used at a moments notice.

I worked for a pizza place up untill recently. Dominoes and Pizza Hut have not managed to make it work here, as of this moment. Dominoes get abou 2/6 orders a week as far as i no. Thats for the hole of the uk. There is a few million or us.

At the end of the day if databases get that advanced people will simply revert to the black market because they do not like the idea of there loss of freedom and privacey. Not withstanding that, lazy people who can not be bothered to cook for thereselfs get embarased if you no who they are and always go el's ware.

This is something everyone needs to read, and I would LOVE to have confirmation on-

I have a cousin who works as a telemarketer, and theres two things I learned about telemarketing and the do not call list

    1. The do not call list only worked if the telemarketer had no previous relationship with the person they called (so no completely cold calls). So if one big company had a buisness relationship (you bought something, joined a mailing list, any association), and had your phone #, every buisness it owns technically has a buisness relationship with you as well, and has every right to call you, regardless of the list.

Here is where it gets intresting-
    2. To PROVE the relationship over the phone, my cousin the telemarketer, gets records of the previous relationship. The telemarketing company he worked for was owned by a company that runs hotel pay per view movies. So when he calls someone, the names of movies they saw show up on his computer screen. If someone he calls says, I'm on the DNC list, then he responds with, "Your intrest in our Hotel pay per view movie has encouraged us to inform you of these opportunities brought to you by us"

Moral of the story is, the telemarketers know what porn you watch at Holiday Inn.

I know it sounds crazy, and I hardly believe it myself, but can any telemarketers here confirm it?? The Pizza guy very well might know what diseases you have in the future, because telemarkers might know what porn you like.

In America we do have a NIDN, it's called a social security number. We're owned from the minute we are born don't know about other countrys. And about the online ordering, my mom orders her groceries online and they deliver them to her front door.

    #1 is completely true.

    #2 is completely true also.

I have a relative who does it (young chap) and makes a good bit of money at it. But, I asked her, and those things are indeed true.

muert0: It's possible to live a life, though, almost completely as normally as everyone else, without ever giving out your SSN to anyone private. In this month's 2600 there is an article about it, as a matter of fact.

Hrmm went to the 2600 website to find the article didnt realize the only way to read it was to buy it.
Was the article in the winter 2003-2004?
And there might be a way to not give it to anyone private but i was just saying we already have a number that marks us if it came down to what Memory was saying in the first place.
