I deleted your original. Please stick to one thread. Multiple threads is not a good thing. There is a bump up and/or edit feature to keep the thread in everyone's attention. When someone comes on that can help you they will. Please have some patience as not everyone is able to be on 24/7.
Also, you may want to change a couple of things:
- limit messages that you receive only from those on your Yahoo list
- check to see if you have adware or spyware through tools like CWShredder and/or HiJackThis!
- change your id if need be.
- Use Google to find your answer. On the 2nd link of this Google search I found the following from a forum called Big Blue Ball:
Booting is a problem, especially for teenage kids with nothing better to do than mess with people. You can get booted out of the Yahoo chat rooms, but you can also get booted out of Yahoo PMs.
How does this work? Well, Yahoo Messenger allows some HTML code. That's what makes the colors, faders and other special tricks work. Unfortunately, it's also what lets deviants use to boot you. They can put in the right HTML code and cause your Yahoo Messenger to crash.
Fortunately, there is an antidote. Open the filter1.txt file with Notepad. You'll find it in the Yahoo folder (usually C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\).
Add these words to the filter1.txt file:
<snd,<alt, <url=, <font, <fade, <a, <html>, <body, <iframe, <frame, src=, <img, <url>, url(, onLoad=, http://, www, <embed
That should keep you safe from booters.
What's the downside? Well, you'll now see font size, fade codes, etc. in the messages (if someone is using them). But you won't get booted.

Hi,
Not too sure if it will help, but please have a look at:
http://www.bitdefender.com/
I know that there is protection for some P2P/IM type apps. Look along the left hand side for "downloads"...click on that to find the free apps bit.
Cheers

Well i dont have any viruses/trojans/keylogges etc which I m sure of.
I tested somthing, if someone pmz me and then attacks,... what to do then ?
Your second suggestion is - asking me to become a frong and hide in a well ,
so that no new person can every msg me again.
Then how will I help people who want me to help themm....
With no offence, i just want to fight back not hide.

File a complaint to Yahoo. They do, IIRC, have an abuse@yahoo.com. I'm pretty sure that this isn't allowable in their AUP

Well then, no offence, go elsewhere. You're being a kiddie then. The last bit of advice that I found from Big Blue Ball allows you to stay connected without limiting your list. Use that.

hey,
thank you so much for the document, i tried and tested it , its gud, but honestly

Actually i was into something very critical when this happend, and it screwd my chat, so i was kinda really furious. My apologies for it.
but this is a great area to explore for me, i sure hope to write and post my first
document here itself on the mail bombers and booters, or may be wireless 802.11i std.
thx again, one last thing, any gud search engines to get inside the community,

Fighting back is a good thing, if it's done in a constructive way. You can't just attack people who DoS you. When you feel that something isn't right, report it. Spread the word on how to protect yourself from attacks. Remember the chinese proverb "those who seek revenge should dig two graves."
If you choose to fight back, do it the right way.
Real security doesn't come with an installer.

It's been a long time since I used yahoo chat, but if I remember correctly ther is a setting you can change to not allow popup windows to be sent to you there by eliminating the effectiveness of a chat bomber.
I can't remember where the setting is though.
please correct me if I'm wrong
Good luck
