understanding BIOS

HI all,
Can you please help me understanding all about the BIOS.
I'm a CS fresh graduate, so programming skills, analysis is in hand.
What is needed to program BIOS or to modify already programmed BIOS.

All the information on that article is known to me

All I want to do is to be able to mocefy the VGA Bios of my VGA cards the way I want, and to be able to work for a team that write BIOS.
I know I have a long hard road, but I'l keen to learn

edit : sorry HMJ.. I guess I didn't really read your post very well..
you want to learn more about modifying/programming them..
I would recommend you go find a few of the forums that a guy named honeyx
posts at and ask him.. he makes some awesome bios mods for ECS mobos.

look here in google for the forums he posts at.. he might be nice enough to give you some pointers.
