Imitating a Network
When I plug into my schools network with an NIC that it hasn't seen before, before I can do anything, it checks to see if I have the blaster patch installed. From here, if I don't have it, I go no further. If I do have it, I enter a login screen. I login my campus username and pass, and from there I have access to the internet.
I would like to imitate this setup. I plan on having a wireless network, and I figure I can add another level of security by having that password that I can hand out. I think it would put a step between someone who cracks WEP and spoofs MAC. The current school setup only requires a password once for each NIC, but I would like a password for each logon/bootup. The password screen is handled by a web page (which I would have fun making).
Is this software related, a custom script, or what? I don't know what this is called, otherwise i'd google for it.
Thanks a bunch
