this isn't a very hard question simple and easy.
Do any of you know anymore distrobutions of linux.
    Like dragonlinux/Winlinux2003/phatlinux..Etc?
If anybody do I would really appreciate it.

first, search with google. then if you dont find it there, search the site using the S E A R C H box. This has been covered lots of times. it WILL return hits.

    No.
Lol, see I know plenty of linux flavors my friend.
So no need to give me that "Newbish" head movment.
I'm looking to install something like "WINLINUX2003/Phatlinux/dragonlinux/ over windows plain and simple. Without partitioning.
    This isn't for me.
    This if for my nephew.
I have college linux running on one of my drives.
So finding a linux flavor isn't difficult.
Finding flavors that's compatible with windows like the example above are.
    - Thanks Soda seriously.
And thanks for your help as well Jc

If you dont want to partition, and this is for your nephew, consider live linux disks, no damage. You boot with linux, when you are done, you pull the cd.

    knoppix
    knoppix std
    damn small
    phlak

    linuxiso.org for a million distros

BTW... its not a newbish head movement, its a courtesy to google first. Or search AO. "which linux" is a top 5 most common thread. You did post in the newb thread, ya know?

Don't forget Cygwin, it's nice enough. Extremely little maintenance. Google for it.

Try Distrowatch instead. It is a lot more up to date than linuxiso. Also, if he just wanted to use a terminal, you could give him a shell account on your computer. Other than that, go with knoppix. It is simple, doesn't require any special configuration, and it doesn't interact with your hard-drive.

    Distrowatch

Also try some of the mini distros out there if you want to. Most will fit on a floppy:

ahh Wartux... I still think you should have searched a little before asking - I'm right with Soda and jcc on that - but in view of your posts above I'll retract the negs soonest chance I get... however in case you don't already know PhatLinux is kinda dead now. Certainly it's not being developed anymore so it may not be the best linux to go with. However if you are interested in obtaining a copy of PhatLinux XP beta I can burn it to CD for you - PM me if you want

Otherwise I'd go with the suggestion already laid out.

Uhhh, what the hell does this have to do with security?

Should have posted it in the OS forum where it belongs.....I made a thread with a bunch of distributions listed, and what each could be used for, and which strong points it had, and welcomed everyone else to join in, to add to it what they have used, and found one Linux or another to be best at...

Ok, go read the OS forum, and make your decision.

I will also refrain from whacking you with the Negoblaster, but please, read the forums. This question has been asked at least a few hundred times in theyear I have been here. I can't even imagine how many times it's been asked before I got here.
