THE US'S new anti-terror Tsar Steven Cooper says he wants more information and IT infrastructure integration happening to thwart attacks, but had to admit his department needed it the most.
Speaking at the Federal Office Systems Expo, in Washington DC, the Home Land Security supremeo said his 12-month plan featured more information sharing, IT infrastructure integration, and data security.

However he admitted he had to start with his own department first.

According to Information Week, the red-faced Cooper admitted that because of a **** up on the configuration front his own department could not send or receive secure email.

His brand-new department already has six WANs and he needs to get it down to one.

After he has sorted out that, then he has to integrate the US government's 22 agencies - a task that experts say would take seven years.

But Cooper says that is too long and he doesn't have time Setting up better networks was part of fighting a real war.

"There are people who want us dead. Speed is important," he said.

I don't see why it would take seven years to integrate 22 networks. Most big companies do this sort of thing all the time, and do it in a matter of months, not years.
