i paid for 512 mb ram, why does it say i only have 480 or so?
anybody know why, im very curious about this. did i get ripped off? (the box said 512 mb ddr)

Hi,
The difference is around 32Mb?............that is what I would expect if you have "onboard" (on motherboard) video..........it shares the memory, but grabs its bit first.
If you have a separate videocard, then you may need to disable onboard/shared video memory in your bios.
What Motherboard, what video, what BIOS?
