A post every 60 seconds?
Sorry! The administrator has specified that users can only post one message every 60 seconds.
Can this be change or completely eliminated for Senior Member? I find it annoying at some time. I consider Senior are no longer thread to AO for that type of flood.

I believe that would be a global setting in the admin panel, so you couldn't have it set differently for each user group.

It is a global setting, assuming AO is still running some of the original vBulletin code. I asked a while back for it to be changed to 30 seconds because it does get annoying sometimes (especially when I used to be on dial-up and couldn't stay on for long - 60 seconds meant I could only make about 20 posts a week) but obviously JP didn't do anything about it.
Personally, I think it would involve a lot of work to implement and wouldn't really bring about that much of a benefit. It's also useful to prevent accidental double-posting (another thing that I used to get on dial-up when connections timed out).

This is in fact a global setting. We can't change it for specific user groups without making some hacks to the code.
60 seconds isn't really that long to wait between posts ... how long does it take to post to a thread, open another, add a reply and hit submit? I think 60 seconds is a reasonable amount of time for flood-checking.

I certainly don't type that fast..................and most posts have some replies already that I need to read?
Is it that much of an issue?
Cheers

agreed.. I'd rather see the "last edited by" message to be extended to 4 or 5 minutes before it's seen.. that's the one that really bugs me.

The code change would be minimal no?
For your info, I usually open 4-5 thread in a new windows. That why sometime, I post a message on another thread, change Windows and read another small thread and type a quick answer happen 2-3 times per week.
If don't want to do it mnstrgrl, I'll understand.

It's not a question of wanting to make a change or not, but more a question of whether or not it's necessary. If there was more support for this (other people saying "yes! please change") I would do it, but it doesn't seem to be an issue for most people. That being the case, I'm not going to change it at this time.

You can get the hack from vbulletin.com.
And it doesn't take more then 10 minutes to edit the code without that particular hack anyhow..
I think that this should at least be considered..
cheers

Ok! I'll leave the board decide if they want to support it or no.
