Thread: No pictures

    No pictures

    I have this weird probelm happening right now and can't figure it out.

    On this one website ( http://americanrebels.net ) I can't see any pictures only text. I thouht maybe I didn't upload the image files correctly, but just checked and they are all there. I'v tried two different computers and two different browsers (IE and Opera)
    Also with the forums related to the site I don't see the buttons. I see the text to the buttons but not the actual button that loads.

    I've talked to othe people and none of them have this problem. I tried clearing my cache and restarting but that didn't work.

    any ideas?

    I can't see the pictures either.

    Did you upload them to the right directory?
    Do they have the correct permissions?

    Just looking at the source, I took a pic.

    I get a

    Forbidden
    You don't have permission to access /images/AmerRebel Flags.jpg on this server.
    So, if the image is there, then it looks like a permissions problem.

    Maybe the guy who uploaded the pics didn't set the permission like you said.

    Guess I'll go check it real quick.

    Yes, looks like thats the problem.

    If you look at:

    http://americanrebels.net/images/

    Try to open a pic. You get permissions error.

    See you're running apache. If on linux, set the files to 755.
    (at least, thats what I use on my school website)

    The site loaded alright for me. There were no images in the screeshot area though.
    Have included a screenshot of what I got. (2 actually -- in a zip file)

    I can open all the pitchures too from the index page. i am using XP with Firefox and proxomitron.

    Chey, i'm still having that problem. Do you have a backup of the database? Try taking one, bring it offline and restore it.

    Other than that...i'm out of Ideas. Our AO clan forum doesnt have this problem

    Oh yeah...try getting a service ticket from BBGN.

    moxnix: Interesting that you can get it. I still can't. Weird...

    I just tried with mozilla firebird, opera, netscape and IE6... all denied.

    see thats whaty I'm saying.

    I tried even setting the permissions to 777 for a second but that didn't even work.

    I am completely clueless here.

    its gotta be some type of browser issue.

    what admin do u have? Check what menthos and the other's have for admin...and set yourself to that.
