    problem in configuring iis5.0

    dear guy's


    In win2000 iis5.0 is added through windows add/remove components.

    1, The localhost pings.

    2, The proxy connection is discarded ( tools--internetoptions-
    connection )

    3, when i use the url "http:\\localhost:8080
    it result's in page cannot be found error.

    4, In the system service they are started.

    5, The pws also


    if any one can assist me . i will be most thankfull for him

    The webserver runs on port 80 by default not 8080.

    hello sir,

    Will u please explain me in detail the solution

    but the system is a standalone one.we are not installed

    in the server.

    the port seem's to be alright.

    Have you tryed \\localhost or \\ipaddress ? (Not specifing the port)
