cdrom i/o error

i got this cool linux boot cd thing called Phlak, but when i try to boot it up it has an error, this is what it does:

One main module found:
/cdrom/mainmod/phlakmain.mod

Loading /cdrom/mainmod/phlakmain.mod

I/O Error: dev 0b:00, sector 925104
Read error at pos 437837824 in file /cdrom/base/morphix

does this mean my cd is corrupted? that happens to me sometimes(cheap cdrw drive). I tried knoppix and it worked fine, but i hear phlak is cooler. anybody know whats wrong?

PHLAK is ok.... and try burning another copy....

ok, so the cd is just messed up? i guess i could burn a new one, but its likely to have errors as well . do you know something better than phlak or knoppix? what is it?

Heads up.....................your CD drive may be on the way out?

Get "Media Checker" and see if the CD is corrupted (the proggy claims to check ANY media by the way)

There is other software on the site that might interest you.

Get a CD cleaning disk and run it at least three times

Continue using PHLAK, just burn a new CD. Knoppix and Gnoppix doesn't hold a candle to it. While (g)Knoppix is meant moreso to boot upon anything (including cacluators) PHLAK is much much much more security oriented. It works on almost all common hardware, having plug and play for additional drivers as well, just like gentoo's live CD. It will give you exactally what you are looking for, from a professional security point of view.

If you want a bloated version of a linux live CD that has no particular use except to temporarily use the linux distrobution (rather than focus on security and networking), go knoppix.

cool, you can boot linux on a calculator? i got a ti-83, any way i could try that out?
