Virtual Memory...
Hi all, do I need disable the Virtual Memory if I've got bigger RAM, let's say 1GB or 512MB? With Virtual Memory disabled, is this will affect performance of my PC?

John,
LEAVE IT ALONE!
Let windows do it for you..............hell you paid Bill Gates enough didn't you?
Actually, Windows wants a small amount of virtual RAM to behave properly...........yeah I have a machine with 3GB, but it still uses a few hundred K of virtual RAM.
In theory, you are absolutely correct..............in reality, leave the virtual memory there.
Cheers

John,
No problems mate, I tried it myself about three/four years back...........it was Win98 maybe SE? it will run, but very badly..........
I have not tried with Win 2k or XP, but I think that it is the same story.....Windows seems to want to open and write a bit to virtual memory when it kicks off?
Good question though
Cheers
