Try Double-clicking on the file directly.

Do you have security right on this file? Can you rename? Copy it?

Are you logged onto admin (NT) if so, windows 2k (don't know about XP) has an option where you can set the security permissons for all the users. while logged into admin right click on the file click properties then click the security tab, then allow permission to all users then try and play it.
