    user profile xp home

    Hi

    Can anyone help please,My user profile has become corrupt,is there anyway i can fix it or will i have to reinstall windows xp home again.

    It became corrupt how? A description of the symptoms would be helpful. There are some brilliant people here, but none of them are psychic , as far as I know.

    I dont know how this was done.When windows opens now it opens with a temp profile.

    may help

    best thing to do is log in as admin - being as you are on home ed - boot up in safe mode, logon into the default admin account- won't be password protected unless you have been wise enough to do this, create a new user profile and then go about copying the files into the new user profile as indicated in the above. Once sure you have everything you can delete the corrupt account

    should do the trick

    LOL - bear in mind the source of the info... don't blame me if MS are wrong - after all it was their product that caused this

    (seriously - it should work I've had to do something similar to the above in the past)
