    Angry Aclu ..... Awol

Once Again the ACLU shows it's true purpose. That being to discriminate against Christianity.

The ACLU is front and center when a North Carolina student wants to advertise himself as the queer candidate in a student body election, but when students elsewhere in the state want to wear tee shirts opposing homosexuality the organization is AWOL.

The ACLU took officials at a high school in Raleigh to court in an attempt to force them to allow 17-year-old student Jarred Gamwell to put up posters around his school billing himself as the "Queer Guy for Hunt High." The Associated Press says a judge rejected the student’s lawsuit.

But the American Civil Liberties Union is nowhere to be found when five students are suspended from Watauga High School from wearing tee shirts bearing Bible scripture and the slogan “God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.”

The students wore the shirts on April 21, the “Day of Silence” in which students wear cards stating that they will keep their mouths shut for a day as a show of support for gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender folks, reports the Watauga Democrat.

The way i read what you wrote the students were suspended for wearing T_shirts that were anti gay and not because of there biblical content unless there were other students wearing tshirts with non religious anti-homo statements who werent suspended. Therefore the is not really a case for civil liberties. If they didnt support the day all they needed to do was not wear the cards and talk in the hallways. If they were suspended for that then would have a case for a civil liberties group.
Of course i dont know much about the ACLU so I am basing my opinion on the facts as presented in your post.

I think he is trying to point out that free speech is a one sided issue according to his view of the ACLU.

OK. Let me try another approach. This is a classic example of the supression of Christianity by the ACLU, and the one-sided enforcement of freedom of speech. Now, you are right in stating that the students were suspended for wearing anti-gay t-shirts. At least that is the school administration's story. However, remember that the anti-gay slogan was biblical in nature. Who other than a Christian, in today's society, is going to wear an anti-gay t-shirt to school? Very, very, few people that I am aware of would do that. The ACLU rarely finds itself on the moral side of an issue. (IMHO) The ACLU supports, homosexuality, recreational drug use, abortion; and opposes national security measures, such as racial profiling of Arabs, phone taps, monitoring of suspected terrorists, etc... IN this instance we are talking freedom of speech. If the school condones gay pride then the school needs to condone Christian values. Period.

On another level, why is the school forcing the students to go to school on a day where the administration is celebrating the acceptance of sexual obsceneties, which is contratry to the Christian belief system? Why does the separation of church and state mean that you can't say anything about the Bible, but can ram immoral conceptions into the sponge like minds of the students without any thought of retribution? It's a core violation of freedom of speech.

Humm find it odd that the ACLU didn't support them...I have seen the ACLU support the KLAn and Neo-Nazi rallies before there is littel difference here....did the kids approch the ACLU for support that is useualy a prerec for there support....then again they lost a lot of school dress code cases so perhpas the yare not takeinbg those on anymore.
