    novell netware firmware?

i've had this computer for about a year and the other day i started it up and its doing this "novell netready netware firmware" thing. it seems to involve my ethernet card. i dont know what it is, but it starts to scan something or load something(and takes way too long) so i just get pissed off and restart. then it wont come up for a few more days... anybody know what it is?

Could very well be that your computer is trying to update the software/firmware of your NIC. You might want to let it do its thing and see what it does.

    Hi,

Interesting..............sounds like your Novell subscription needs updating?

Would the box be a former corporate (networked one?).....I would dump the network card and software.....take a look in "remove programs" and look for Novell........and remove the physical card.

I have nothing against Novell..........but it is no good on a stand alone

    cheers
