online chat in log-in window?
Hi All,
I went on to my computer to do some online banking and when I went to log-in to my account text appeared in the customer number window. It seemed to be bits of a conversation. I would delete it and more of the conversation would appear. I'm now concerned about the security of this website and I'm not sure who is at fault, the bank, me or my internet provider. Does anyone know why this is happening?
Thanks

well with the info you just gave us... I think your computer or the bank needs excorsism..
But realy.. We will need a lot more info before we can say anything about what has happened..
I have never seen anything closely like that happening..
And I can't even imagine how this could happen (chat text in login window)..

I'm using Internet Explorer, Windows XP, and I don't have a firewall. The chat seemed to be two people making plans to get together. The log-in window only allows so many characters, so I had to kinda piece the conversation together. I'm the only one using the computer. Huh, as I'm writing this reply every once in while the words (the & and) pops into the sentence by themselves? I'm very confused... Oh well, If there is anything else you need to know please ask. Thanks for your time Zetaphor.

Well, there goes my theory, I was thinking if you were wireless you might just be picking up random traffic. (noise) Have you spoke with your ISP, they might be able to sniff your traffic and see where these random words & chat are coming from.

Have you ran your AV?
I remember last year sometime i had this happen.
I would go to type something in and i would get like 2 or more letters/numbers onto the screen then all these words would just appear from no-where, and sometimes it got to the point were my computer would just crash.
I suggest updating your AntiVirus, do a full system scan.
That should maybe pick something up.
Or you could just take the long road and do a clean re-install of your Operating System.
But hey i could be wrong you never know these days, you could be certain it's one thing, but in the end it could be something else.
