Windows, Unix, Linux - Seeking Clarification
Hi, I am a newbie to this and have many students where I work who ask me the difference between Unix, Linux, and Windows. I'm just looking for for a *simplified* way to be able to tell these students what the difference is so that I can better direct them into the right programs. I also need to know the main differences between C++, VB, C#, Java, Assembler, etc. I hope this is the correct forum for this. Maybe the programming question should be in a different forum?
mathgirl32 told me that you guys were very smart and could help me out.
Thanks!

Howstuffworks has a pretty decent introduction to Operating Systems that also covers the basic differences between Windows, and *nix.
And here's an extended introduction to programming languages...
