    ZA Pro blocking downloads

Often, if i try to download a program from a website, I will get the error page: "You are not authorised to view this page".

But closing down ZA stops this. Does anyone know what I need to change in order to be able to download without having to shut ZA down?

    Yep, change your firewall.

    Try Outpost, Sygate, or tiny.

    /me walks quietly away.............

    /end

If you wish to visit "those sites" .............fine.................just so long as there is no child pornography

Or, understand what is going on.............you have set security limits, to stop this sort of stuff..........it is working!!!................... I think that is good?

OK the problem will come with updating things?..............like Microsoft, antivirus and the lot...........then you have to tell your AV that they are OK...........

To tell the guy to change his firewall is BOLLOCKS..............for heavens sake advise him how to use it?

    My opinion

ZoneAlarm Pro 4.5 User Manual <--- Chapter 4 or 5 should help you. Alternatively, visit ZoneLabs Forums for specific undocumented help.

Djhuk, I found this on an unofficial ZA website in regards to problems with downloading:
If you have ZoneAlarm Pro and get the error "you are not authorized to view this page", then you need to go to the privacy tab and in mobile code enable mime-type integrated objects
on yet another forum, someone also suggested turning off the Mobil Code Control.
I don't know what kind of security compromises this will yield (turning off or messing around with these options), so you might wanty to research the links MsMittens provided before you go start screwing around with the privacy features.
    good luck.

Yeah, my car wouldn't start, so instead of taking it to a mechanic...I just bought a new one!

I'm a tech support for sbcyahoo dsl, I am getting a lot of calls customers using ZA that can't connect to the internet . I always tell my customers to disable ZA and it works. I'd prefer using Norton
