The technique is called Google Bombing, and it's pretty easy:
Code:
<a href="http://www.johnkerry.com">waffles</a>
There... I just helped them
If you have enough websites doing this, eventually Google will link "johnkerry.com" to "waffles".

There are a lot of folks who can't understand how we came to have
an oil shortage here in America.
Well, there's a very simple answer -- nobody bothered to check the
oil. We just didn't know we were getting low.
The reason for that is purely geographical. All our oil is in Alaska, Texas,
California and Oklahoma.
All of our dipsticks are in Washington, D.C.

not to mention Louisianna and the off shore fillds of the mid-atlantic states (MD threw NY and the moritorium is almost up). the reason we ran low on oil...well actually we haven't. we have the resources to be the fourth largest oil exporter in the world with an economy to match. and we were until OPEC screwed us to show the west what kind of power they have. what they did was by all definitions an act of war. maybe next (this) time they'll think twice before they do something like that.

I thought the Republicans were on the right and the Democrats were on the left (a rather crude distinction, but you get the idea)?

Neither of them are any where near the left especially by syandards outside the US. They are all lackies of big business.
But then again I would rather see Bush than Kerry any day.
And Tedob The Republican party is a little to the left, they are often used as an example of the farthest right you can get in a democracy.
