A little career advice please ?
To make a somewhat long story short, I am in need of some career/resume advice. I am currently working for a company in which there is only 4 of us in the IT dept and we do mostly reporting and some in house development. I am also in charge of user administration and email issues(for the most part) and we have most of our other networking stuff done by an outside firm.
My background is such that it is reflective of programming, my AAS degree is in programming and I'm not done with my BS Info Systems yet. Basically what it comes down to is that I am having a hard time getting entry level stuff in a network capacity because my resume reflects programming and my current job is mostly programming related. I do have on there stuff about AD administration and email administration but aside from that I'm sort of stuck.
Can someone give me any advice on how to reword my resume to help me get in somewhere, even bottom of the barrel in a network tech/administration capacity ? I was working on my MCSE but I'm taking 5 classes this summer and haven't had time to complete much of it. Most of the general networking stuff I'm fine with, but I'm just stuck it seems because of this AAS in programming and I really want to advance my skills but I'm somewhat limited where I am at now.
Any and all help is appreciated.

Umm... perhaps you can post parts of your resume (sans any identifiers)? I'd suggest highlighting more of the networking portions and administrative portions. You may also want to look into the CCNA as a why to highlight the fact that you have a secret identity: super network admin with programming powers!

CCNA would definitely be a step in the right direction.
A close friend of mine is a Microsoft Certified Instructor, and he has told me that the most in demand certs are CCNA, MCSE, and MOUS. The MOUS depends on the job of course....
Real security doesn't come with an installer.

MOUS (Microsoft Office User Specialist) lol
Blah!
lol
CCNA, CSSP, CCNE, MSCE, MSCA. As far as certs I belive those would be good ones to have.
CSSP would be more security oriented.
