What's wrong with his post? I don't see much difference between this and my "Best Security Sites" thread a while back. If it were actually advertising as opposed to listing, then I'd have an issue.

That said, here's one forum I've checked out:
www.security-forums.com

However, doesn't hold a candle to AO. I've posted like once or twice, but I'm usually too busy here to really visit it. Just not as interesting. Nonetheless, it has a lot of topical forums and some really good content.

Also, I imagine everyone's already familiar with www.experts-exchange.com, as it pops up over all sorts of Google searches. However, it's good when you need advice quick. On the other hand, having to dish out limited points for quality answers kinda sucks.

He's refering to the constant advertising by pure...its getting annoying. Its like a horrible SPAM commercial. I don't mind the sig or once in a while posting it...but every time he posts...its a tad too much. We all have websites...you don't see us advertising the **** out of them. How's this in *nix security discussions?

I'm not advertising crap, if I am, then what the heck am I selling????? Damn, some of you guys are just so lame. Can't even start a useful thread without someone seeing more into it, then what it really is.

^This is one I've frequented a bit. It's not much of a community given the layout, but it is a grood place to post questions (if you're not in a hurry for an answer). It has a multitude of topic-related forums and has proven helpful for me a number of times.

My observation was in regard to many of your posts seemingly being used as a platform
for self-promotion. pureehosting.com is used in many of your examples. It's used often enough to easily be construed as such. While I think the traditional definition of "advertise" may not apply, the word does have application outside of generating business or sales.

I'm sure you can see why one might think you are interested in driving traffic to your site.

You can keep on keeping on, but I'll feel free to comment as well.
